DADU: The 25th death annive
rsary of Sindhi poet, Syed Ahmed Shah who is widely known
as ‘Ustad Bukhari’ was observed by the Ustad Bukhari Academy (UBA) on Monday.
The event was attended by a number of intellectuals, poets, artists, social workers and educationists.
At the event, UBA Chairman and son of Ustad Bukhari, Altaf Sh
ah said that his father’s work highlighted problems and issues which everybody could relate to regardless of nationality or culture.
One of the speakers at the event said that Bukhari’s work was recognized the wo
rld over and his poetry was sung by a number of famous singers like Abida Parveen, Jal Chandio and Manzoor Sakharani among others. A musical programme was arranged later where a number of singers presented Bukhari’s poetry.
